There has been a new surge of people who have been suffering from this lung cancer, mesothelioma. The main causative agent is asbestos. So lets start breaking this down, and define asbestos?
Asbestos is a collection of minerals with fibrous crystals. It a strong mineral in that it has resistance to heat,electricity, and certain kinds of chemicals. Due to these properties asbestos was highly used in many industries like insulation, automobiles, and in such things used to put out fires.
These properties have a high price tag and asbestos is highly toxic. People that work in any industry with high exposure to asbestos are susceptible to severe lung conditions like asbestosis and causing asbestos lung mesothelioma. This is caused by inhalation of the crystalline material into the fragile lung tissue. The exposure can even be seen in towns which are close to factories which use asbestos.
